27th June 2004: I got out 'Legally Blonde' on DVD - it's a
really nice/ good film... I liked it... :) Don't click on the Hopper link yet becauase I still haven't written the page yet... was busy with work this weekend... but happy and content about it all... 24th June 2004: Am quietly tired... work is going ok... want to write up my
notes on Hopper but am tired... Will you wait till the weekend? (By the way, yesterday I went to the RA Summer Exhibition and the Edward Hopper exhibition at the Tate Modern).
21st June 2004:
Waah, Waah, Waah! Mad rush! Running around like a headless chicken! 20th June 2004: Written end of day yesterday: 'No, actually, I will go into work tomorrow, & do some work (what I didn't get done today...) My plan: wake up 9am-10am, watch Enigma, have
lunch, go to Tescos, then go home & then straight to work - get there by 1pm-2pm - to work till 5pm/6pm latest... go home... I can do this because I have another day off on Wednesday - where I can recouperate... I
think it will be ok...Outcome today: everything went as planned... I got a lot done... I went into Blockbuster on my way home from work, but the DVD I wanted to see was not there ('One Flew Over the Cuckoo's
Nest')... and so I got out a different one ('Rear Window')... 19th June 2004: Drowsy, drowsy, drowsy... Tired, tired, tired... Annoyed, annoyed, annoyed... I have started taking a prescribed antihistamine but it's making me sleepy... went into work today
but found it a struggle - my brain wasn't functioning at it's normal capacity - kind of half system shut down - put on stand-by as the brain didn't really want to process anything that came it's way...I once had a
conversation with a friend... she works in the music/ recording industry. She said, when she was tired, hearing music would be experienced differently. It would lose all it's depth & just be 'flat'... I likened it
to visual things where unfortunately, driving when tired, everything also lost it's depth & things appeared 'flat'/ on the same plane... Traffic lights & brake lights of the car infront seemed to have a new
interchange - one started seeing patterns/ relationships between things in a flat surface manner... Today, I will have to work around my drugged-up drowsy feeling body... It's only good for watching DVDs from
Blockbuster with the likelihood of dozing off mid-film... :| 18th June 2004: IIt's my day off today... The day before, while on my way to collect a prescription, I had seen a nice black dress in the 'Save The Children' shop window... Today, I went in
early morning to town but unfortunately it had gone/ was sold... :( 13th June 2004: Am having a good weekend! Managed to do a lot of things that I needed to do... Yeeheehee, now I am off to the video shop to rent some more films... Donnie Darko was quite
interesting - quite funny actually! I think I will get out The Bourne Identity, Enigma and something else... 12th June 2004: & I also got out 'Crush' on DVD... 11th June 2004: Hello, PopPickers!... Now is the weekend... I am coming into work briefly for the morning tomorrow - then I will have all the time to myself... There are some nagging things I
have to do this weekend but I can't remember them... (I wish the cat picture would display properly so that you can all see it)... I am a bit ill - got a very sore throat coming on... 8th June 2004: Grrrhhh! Fists of fury beating on a man's chest! (hee, hee)...Didn't get
all the work done today that I wanted to do... Decided will go in early tomorrow and try to do it... Hooray! Am happy! 7th June 2004:
Today I got out 'Life is Beautiful' & 'Donnie Darko'... This time will space it out the time between viewing! But this evening I am going to
be reading... 6th June 2004: 3 DVDs or videos for £5 for 7
nights! I got 'K-Pax', 'The Elephant Man' and 'About A Boy' - Hey what a Difference! Blockbuster Video!I have never seen 'The Elephant Man'... I chance came across it at the video store... I suppose I had to watch it
- it's a masterpiece - and also it would help me make sense of 'Mulholland Drive' - also directed by David Lynch... I know it was an exploration of identities, but maybe I just want to delve deeper into this David Lynch
character... 5th June 2004: Ghetto Superstar, that is what you
are! It's Saturday... The time is 5pm... Am signing off... Wahahaha![ Please ignore this first sentence/reference - it really isn't intended directly to anyone in particular :) ] 3rd June 2004: Another long hard day at work - Yeeheehee! I just got in. It is 8pm......
Am half way through 'In the Bedroom'. Sissy Spacek is a good actress. But somehow the film doesn't hang very well... There's something about it - a rubbish storyline, bad acting, or bad cinematography - they show you
the bits which you don't want to see. To show too much actually hinders the story-telling... And the lines the actors say are just too predictable... It doesn't run smoothly... I can't quite recognise what it is about
it but I feel it is a failure... 2nd June 2004: Pictures down
right-hand side! Time to get going with the pictures! Ijust need to ger some new AAA batteries for my digital camera...What can I photograph for you? The clematis which said "No, it's too late! Don't trim me now",
and then burst into a thousand blooms (currently) when I forgot all about it... Am sorry, didn't manage to get out of the office at lunchtime to get the batteries... too busy...
Will make do with a different picture from my archives? A nosy cat that came into the garden! Sorry the image is so large - will manage to make them smaller in time... Just wonder if what I view is what you view when
online looking through a web broswer... 1st June 2004: 'Lost in
Translation' was such a nice film - a nice surprise! I have added it to my favourite films list...The 1st of June - a new month - I am looking forward to the summer - somehow I feel I will live it this year
instead of ducking my head down and working through it all - like last year... This evening I am going to watch 'In The Bedroom' - I wonder what it will be like... hopefully ok... I am happy because I sorted out a
filing dilemma on the computer at work - just have to implement it now... - which needs time to set it up properly... Well, yesterday I was depressed, today I am positively sunny... |
