warmer :-)... not sure if they stuck the heater on or if it had warmed up during the day due to the sun shining on it. 26th June 2006: This is Day 2 of our holiday... It is now 6pm... Jim has gone for a swim
in the pool... We have just come back from a nice quiet/ nearly secluded spot on the beach of Afandou... Tomorrow we will go to Rhodes Town as part of a coach trip... and then Wednesday we will go to Lindos and climb to
the acropolis and also spend some time on the beach there... I've taken lots of nice sunny photographs... I don't know how hot is it here but before we went it said it was 30 deg C... The sea was really nice... The
food is good too... The Greeks seem really laid back and scoot back and forth on small mopeds – no helmets and the roads are often in fairly bumpy condition – but it just feels like that they aren't dangerous drivers
here... Rhodes is quite hilly – well Afandou is – where we are staying... we are sort of on the top of a hill – and there is a steep walk up to the hotel from the Afandou square which will keep us fit... - though we
catch a train that meanders through the streets to the beach... I've either got a suntan or got sunburnt already – since my skin is looking tan and pinkish – will know if it's burnt tomorrow as it will then start
hurting – but we did load onto ourselves lots of suntan lotion... 22nd June 2006:
I am at a loss at what to do at the moment... This lunchtime I think I will go down town and get a few things for the holiday and then also eat out - fish &
chips...
I hope to catch the summer exhibition at the RA when we come back from hols...20th June 2006:

Things to do: I feel melancholic at moment...

Back down to earth again... People have been moaning that I haven't been updating my webdiary - sorry, was really busy this last week or so...
Back to reading the Ayn Rand book... got to prepare because it will be my Rhodes trip soon... :-)
The Grand Place at night 14th June 2006:
The interview went well but they didn't offer me a job... They felt I had got too specialised and that if I went to work for them I wouldn't be able to just come in at
senior level but would have to more or less start at the bottom again...

10th June 2006:
Sorry, I've been away this week... guess what? I sent in a letter and my CV to
Norman Foster and was granted an interview at Foster and Partners...
I have been busily putting together a portfolio... I feel that in the end it isn't good
enough but I hope that the interview will go ok - and that the guy will be ok about it all... but then feel that I might have been wasting their time :-( - which i feel guilty about...
Anyway, the journey I have had from since Monday knowing I had been called up for an interview and decided to prepare for it - well, it has been amazing and I owe a lot
to Foster and Partners for giving me this situation...
What I really want is for this interview to be relaxed and for me to be myself... I have a good job anyway and so I have nothing to lose...
The Grand Place at night 5th June 2006:
I'm still at work... it is now past 8pm... Feel strange, tired...
The Grand Place at night 4th June 2006:
A lazy day... again it was brilliantly sunny today... we started off a mushroom growing kit and generally chilled out and read newspapers... we also tidied up our finances and paperwork...
The Grand Place at night 3rd June 2006:
Today we went to computer fairs and then to see some watercolours of interiors of buildings now mostly lost/ demolished that someone called John Crothwer painted -
displayed in the Guildhall Library Print Room... after that we went to see the Pixar exhibition on at the Science Museum... i was really absorbed by it and took quite a
long pleasant time going around the exhibition... and after that we had a meal at a organic pizza place...
... it was a really good day out - and the sun was shining all the time :-)
The Grand Place at night 2nd June 2006:
Feel much better now - on the mend... This weekend we can perhaps fully have a weekend :-)
Got to write a letter to a friend Sue - haven't done so - was meaning to after X'mas...
It's 11am - time is going slowly again - I feel back in control :-) And I still have so much to do - but it is manageable because it is still 11am ;-) It's now 11.45am... done a bit more work...
Kind of feel I have to make up for it with Jim - I was a monster last weekend and quite difficult...
... I might go on a James Spader spree - I really like the guy - I think he is really
funny and a really good actor - might try to see some more films he has been in... - but I don't think they can top how well the secretary film unfolded... The Grand Place at night
1st June 2006:
I have a confession to make... over the Bank Holiday weekend, I didn't take enough medicine with me down to Jim's place in London. Hence why I've been firing off at
tangents all week... plus am extremely depressed as if I had come off some major high - but where was it? - I missed it... Anyway, hope to be on the mend - I can feel myself getting better now :-)
