February 2007

25th February 2007:

I have finally moved my current account over to something more ethical - Smile... :-)

Today I am making Chelsea buns, and doing a lot of tidying up and just taking it easy...

24th February 2007:

Today we went to the Barbican to see the exhibition on Alvar Aalto - it was really good and very enjoyable because the exhibition area/ layout is very spacious and not overcrowded...

21st February 2007:

Hooray - I have finally cleared out my filing tray of stuff that needs filing... This evening I think I will have a long soak in the bath... Then read perhaps a chapter of a book I am reading...

... I need to set aside a place for reading magazines and articles since I never seem to find the time and I have so much stuff lying around to read really...

I might upload you pictures from our trip to Egypt - I have chosen 4:

St Catherine's Monastery

Sinai Mountains

Egyptian Camel

Hilton Dahab

20th February 2007:

Oh no! I have forgotten my lunch today and so have to go downtown in the rain this lunchtime... also it is market day and so v busy...

I have been listening to an old CD: Alisha's Attic "Illumina" in the car into work today... The lyrics are really interesting and it's got some really catchy tunes... Their voices are really good too... - kind of quirky...

I wanted to go swimming today after work but I forgot my swim gear :-(

This is really funny ;)) - I stole the image and so have given you the link to their website/ hope they don't mind... http://xkcd.com/store/

19th February 2007:

Support at 1and1.co.uk have got back to me… :-) They said republish my website using passive mode – and it worked! I have to write a quick thank you email to them now – yippee!

16th February 2007:

Ooops! Just been trying to upload my webdiary for days now but seem to be getting nowhere - it won't upload... could be that my really old PC hasn't got enough free memory to perform the task! Even when I shut down other programs running on it it still would only upload 40% of 1 page in 25mins... Next step is to reboot the router - but now I have to leave to go to meet a friend and then down to Jim's.

13th February 2007:

Am at work... Lunchtime... feel quite tired though, since it is now 4.30pm in Egypt... When I get home I have to cut my fingernails and upload this webdiary and call a friend Christina... and just hope my stomach starts digesting food again... I might pop into Tescos and get some probiotic yoghurts late on this evening...

Now we are into saving money again... I hope not to spend too much this month and next month...

12th February 2007:

I'm back in the UK now... Came back yesterday evening... Going back up to get ready for work for tomorrow soon... I will still keep up swimming after work I think...

It's been a really good holiday and we have a lot of happy memories... :-)

9th February 2007:

Ok... I have decided to write my webdiary properly this evening... I am much better healthwise and have not had much more problem with my stomach... Can't work it out - but most probably, Dan the instructor has forgotten all about me - or I didn't register at all... I thought I would write anyway since because I want to - and now I don't feel too bad if he doesn't reply... also, I am not going to put my return address on it... It's just a special thank you for teaching me to dive... I am now a certified open water diver :-P

It is now 5.40pm... Just in the hotel chilling out... We spent 1 week already in Sharm learning to scuba dive and now this is our 2nd week in Dahab... Dahab is really nice, quiet and peaceful and very relaxed and not as touristy as Sharm...

We like this - 2 week holidays - they really give you enough time to relax and fully unwind...

We are thinking of going to Thailand for 2 weeks for our next holiday... we will also be doing diving there and hopefully will stay at a Hilton again there too - or else a liveaboard - on a dive boat...

Just waiting till we get hungry - then we will order room service again... room service is really good here... yum, yum...

By the way, just in case you are wondering... Jim & I are life partners... we love each other but will not tie each other down... I suppose it sounds like a open marriage - but really we are not actively going out to find other people - it's just if it happens by chance... then I am prepared to let Jim go - if he is better off with someone else and he is willing to let me go - if not, we live a happy life together... we cannot lose... marriage is just a bit too old fashioned for us and it traps 2 people together for life etc... It doesn't work around our lifestyles...

Tomorrow we go to St Catherine's monastery - that is why we didn't go diving this afternoon... - because it is at altitude...

7th February 2007:

Ok... In love with Dan - stomach cramps etc... could be because of food and tummy adjusting to new bugs...

Yes, really like the Hilton... I haven't thought much about work - have emailed boss but he hasn't replied yet... perhaps they feel I have left them in a mess - but maybe not since it was only last night I emailed...

I got lots to talk about with Christina...

5th February 2007:

Notes to self about Egypt holiday:-

- Egyptians are very courteous, friendly and polite - not too much in your face... yes, they are poor but they have a lot of dignity - much more than the rest of us.. I don't mind tipping because I want to help them - it is our kind of place, Egypt...

I fell in love with Dan - diving instructor...

Our hotel in Dahab is the Hilton - it's our first time in a Hilton and we find it very good and the people/ staff are nice and very kind to us... We feel very welcomed and would like to go to Hilton hotels again... :-) I thought it would be posh and that we would get looked down upon but we weren't... In Egypt, the workers are from Egypt and some from Russia and they are all good to us...

It is our kind of place..
